Jojoba Seed Oil

(Simmondsia chinensis)

Produced in the seed of the Jojoba shrub, which is native to arid climates like southern Arizona, Southern California, and northwestern Mexico. Spanish missionaries and explorers became aware of its uses by Native Americans and introduced it to other parts of the world. The plant has been cultivated for more than 30 years in many countries worldwide, such as Israel, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

Extra Virgin Olive Oil

(Olea europaea)

Olive trees have been grown around the Mediterranean since the 8th millennium BC. The first recorded oil extraction can be found in Exodus, in the Hebrew Bible. The olive and olive oil are both commonly used in cooking. Along with wheat and grapes, the olive is one of three core food plants in the region. Olive oil is also used in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and soaps, and has additional uses in some religions.

Pomegranate Seed Oil

(Punica granatum)

Pomegranate, a name derived from Latin and for “seeded apple,” has been cultivated since ancient times throughout the Mediterranean region. Only the seeds are edible and are found inside this large, hexagonal-shaped red fruit. A single pomegranate typically contains about 600 seeds, which are encapsulated in white pith. The pomegranate fruit is low in calories, high in fiber, high in vitamins and high in phytochemicals.

Black Seed Oil

(Nigella sativa)

Also known as Black Cumin Oil, Black Seed has been harvested for at least four thousand years, for its restorative properties. N. sativa seeds were found in several sites from ancient Egypt, including Tutankhamun’s tomb. Seeds were also found in a flask in Turkey from the second millennium BCE. Mentioned in the Bible and Koran for its medicinal effects, N. sativa may have also been used as a condiment to flavor food from ancient times.
