Jojoba Oil (Simmondsia chinensis): Technical Specifications
MediVega jojoba oil is cold pressed from jojoba seeds at the N.S. Oils facility in Kibbutz Sa’ad, Israel. It is supplied in bulk in two grades: Golden jojoba oil, a virgin oil with its natural golden color, and Clear (colorless) jojoba oil, cold pressed and then bleached for formulations that need a colorless ingredient. Both grades are available as conventional and certified organic, for cosmetic, skin care and hair care manufacturers.

What is the difference between golden and clear jojoba oil?
Golden jojoba oil is a virgin cold pressed oil that keeps its natural golden color (Gardner NMT 10). Clear jojoba oil is cold pressed and then bleached to a colorless oil (Gardner NMT 1). Their fatty acid and wax ester profiles are the same.
Is jojoba oil an oil or a wax?
Technically jojoba is a liquid wax: it is made mostly of long chain wax esters (mainly C40 to C44) rather than triglycerides. This is why it is very stable, with a 3-year shelf life.
